Arts Competition 

General Rules

• All participants must be registered STM members. Eligibility will be determined by church officials.

• Following events have been cancelled due less less than 5 sign ups

  • English Singing -  Grades 10/11/12

  • Malayalam Singing -Grades 10/11/12

  • Malayalam Singing - Grades AA/TK/KG

• It's the responsibility of the participant to identify the respective room and report on time for the scheduled competition.

• All items must reflect Christian values and be church-appropriate.

• Participants must report 15 minutes before the competition starts. Those that are not present when the competition starts will be disqualified.

• Once the name has been listed and registration date is closed, no substitution is allowed.

• Judges' Decisions are final. Please refrain from arguing with the judges.

Individual Competition

English / Malayalam Singing Rules

• Songs have to be Christian songs, appropriate for a church and family environment. Inappropriate songs will be disqualified at the discretion of the Ekklesia team. This includes vulgar lyrics, insinuations, and other suggestive language.

• Karaoke and other musical accompaniments are not permitted.

• No props to be included.

• Song length must not exceed 2 minutes

English / Malyalam Speech Competition

• Length of the speech: Max 3 minutes

• Points will be deducted for any Notes/cards used. 

• No offensive, disrespectful, or inappropriate content is allowed.

• Topic Grade 4/5/6: Mary, the mother of Jesus, why Mary is important and devotion Catholics have to her

• Topic Grade 7/8/9: Reconciliation: A Bridge Between God and Us

• Topic Grades 10/11/12 - Faith and Syro Malabar Identity

• Topic Adults: The Catholic Response to Consumerism

• Topic Adults Malayalam: ആത്മീയ സംഘർഷം - എങ്ങനെ ആത്മീയ യോദ്ധാക്കളെ പടുത്തുയർത്താം 

Spelling Bee

• There will be a written elimination round (except adults) for groups with more than 6 participants.

• Words will include verbs, adverbs, adjectives and nouns in the English language.

• Words will not be distributed in advance.

• Decision of the judges and core team is final and binding.

Digital Art - Deadline September 26th

• The artwork must be original and free of any copyright violations (no plagiarism or use of copyrighted images without transformation/permission).

• Only digital artwork will be accepted. Techniques may include computer graphics, digital drawing/painting, photo manipulation, illustration, or mixed media. Final work must be in digital format. 

• File format: JPEG or PNG only accepted, alteast 300DPI 

• The electronic file size must not exceed 10 MB.

• Only one entry per participant is allowed.

• Topic: Walking with God

• Along with the artwork, participants must include a brief explanation (in English) describing the concept, meaning, and inspiration behind the design.

Mobile Photography - Deadline October 18th

• Accepted formats: JPEG, JPG, or PNG.

• Maximum file size: 10 MB.

• Minimum resolution: 1080 x 1080 pixels

• Note (iPhone: Default photos are HEIC/HEIF. Please convert to JPEG or PNG before submission)

• Photos must relate to the assigned theme.

• Screenshots or images captured from other sources are not allowed.

• Avoid offensive or inappropriate content

• Basic edits allowed (brightness, contrast, cropping).No heavy manipulation or adding unrelated elements.

• One photo per participant.

• Topic : Image of Holiness

• Ensure the photo is clear, in focus, and properly framed
